Built by a teacher who saw the gap
AirEdu was created by Josh Mantellato, a full-time high school maths teacher on the Central Coast, to give Years 7–8 students the structured support they need — at a price families can actually afford.
Josh Mantellato
Josh is a permanent Mathematics teacher at St Edwards College on the Central Coast, where he teaches Years 7 through 12. Over six years in high schools, he’s seen first-hand how many students arrive with gaps in their maths from primary school — and how quickly those gaps widen.
He started AirEdu to give students a place to fill those gaps and build real confidence in maths. Every session is structured, curriculum-mapped, and designed around how students actually learn — not just what the syllabus says they should know.
When he’s not teaching, Josh holds a trade qualification, has played professional sport, and once spent two years living in the UK.
Why small groups work
Real attention
With a maximum of five students, the tutor can check every student's understanding — not just the loudest ones.
Peer learning
Students learn from watching others work through problems. Hearing a peer explain a concept can click in ways a teacher's explanation sometimes doesn't.
Confidence building
Working alongside others at the same level normalises struggle. Students realise they're not the only one finding something hard.
Accountability
Showing up to a small group each week creates a rhythm. Students are more likely to stay consistent than with self-paced or one-on-one formats.
How we teach
Curriculum-mapped
Every session follows the NSW maths syllabus. We don't guess what to teach — we plan the full term in advance and share it with parents upfront.
Structured, not reactive
We don't just help with homework. Sessions follow a clear progression: warm-up, concept introduction, guided practice, challenge, and wrap-up.
Transparent to parents
After every session, you receive a summary of what was covered and a full recording. You'll always know exactly what your child is learning.
